In addition to producing toys for them over the years, we are now their exclusive distributor in the Chinese market, with brands including Robotech, Emily, Miyo’s Mystic Musings, Voltron, and Pose+ Metal Heat Getter Series.
Exhibition Overview:
The China International Comic Festival X Animation Game Festival (CICF X AGF) is the largest comprehensive animation and game exhibition in the country. This year’s event is themed “ With Original Intentions, the Future is Here ! ” and gathers animation and game developers, toy manufacturers, and guests from various fields, providing a comprehensive platform for showcasing and communication for animation and game enthusiasts.
The exhibition area is rich and diverse, including commercial exhibition zones, signing stages, interactive stages, food areas, treasure box forests, capsule toy areas, and more, showcasing thousands of related merchandises.
During the event, multiple official activities will be held, such as the Golden Dragon Award Cosplay National Super Competition, Star Dance Galaxy National Dance Competition, Comic Dimension Super Cute Star Competition, and AGF Play to Fame King of Glory Contest. Additionally, there will be a variety of exhibitor activities and classic events, including free cosplay tours etc.
The story of Toynami :
Toynami is an American toy company based in Van Nuys, California. Founded in 2000 by George Sohn, Toynami is primarily focused on anime licenses for specialty retailers and collectors in the North American market. The company's name is a portmanteau of the words "toy" and "tsunami".
Part of the early driving force that led to the creation of the company was Sohn's interest in producing and releasing modern Macross Valkyrie toys, something he spearheaded with Japanese company Yamato Toys while being vice president of Toycom, Yamato's U.S. division at the time. When legal issues arose blocking the non-grey market release of Yamato's Macross toys in North America, Sohn left Toycom and started Toynami, first acquiring the Robotech license, which was the catalyst that roadblocked Yamato and Toycom's Macross toys.
Using Robotech as a starting point, Toynami has since expanded, seeking other primarily anime-based licenses and aiming more towards collectors instead of the mass-market.
